No one should be in a state unable to access food that is safe and nutritious at the point of need.
Unfortunately we know this happens. In fact we are seeing more and more cases of food security issues in our communities for a number of reasons, including relationship breakdown, loss of work, mental and physical ill health.
The Coronavirus pandemic has tipped many proud families and individuals already struggling and making ends meet over the edge.
We are a Food Bank referral agency. We are also part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
The purpose of the food banks is not to become a substitute for the welfare system or a way of life, that is why we work with service users to become food secure by supporting them through our Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) project.
If you and your family or someone you know are about to go into food crisis for whatever reason, we can issue you with a food bank voucher, which can be redeemed for a minimum of three day’s emergency food at your nearest food bank.
You do not have to currently visit the food bank due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will pass your details electronically to your nearest food bank, who will deliver to your door step.
Please do not hesitate if you or someone you is in genuine need of help, it happens to the best of us.
